Do You Want a Wooden Phone Case? This Small South African Company Might Just Have It!

Houdt

A small company started as a college project turned into one of the best wooden case manufacturers in RSA. This small yet awesome company has given us a great and quality product! They seem to understand how to price products because for the price of these cases I can promise you ,you won’t find anything similar in this price class!

_DSC0126.00_05_05_15.Still001.jpg

I personally own one of these cases and i must say for the past 17H that I’ve had it, it still is freaking awesome!!

My unboxing video!

They have many options to what wood you want to use to the type of phones you want to protect! The coolest part is the fact that they do custom vector engravings ! The photos you see up top are setup as follows:

  • Cherry-wood
  • IPhone 6s cover
  • Custom spider-web engraving!_DSC01340000.jpg

What does one of these price at?

Most of the cases are around R450 and for a custom engraving one it’s up to R600! These prices are so good for the product you receive!

Tips:

  • You need a VECTOR-BASED graphic
  • Don’t Overlay your image over their template(I did This *face-palms*)

Recommendation Rating:

85% recommended by me! I haven’t had this cover for too long so I can’t say it’s a 100% quality product … yet 😉

Should You Buy: Dirt 4?

Dirt 4:

So this AAA title is widely know  as one of the best rally games to release this year but is it worth it?

What is Dirt 4 about?

This game is simple to understand. It’s a racing game based on the Rally side of the racing scenes. So if off-roading is your thing then you would like this game!So basically you are a new driver getting into rally racing and you start of racing for other teams and as you progress you can start your own team and build your own cars.

A Few Things I Nerd Out About!

The graphics on this game are insane! Each time I play I’m impressed again. The next thing is the extensive settings you can change to make the driving experience unique! The levels also get randomly generated which makes it so re-playable in the long run! Next is the fact that the things that you do effect the crew or teams you are working with, how cool is that??? Sucks if you are me and crash a lot but still a cool feature! The cars actually break and wear! I’ve gotten flats and worn clutches which just made the experience all the more real and cool!

Is It Any Fun?

Oh hell yes! This is one of the hardest and most entertaining racing games I’ve ever come across. The simulation setting makes you think about how you drive thus immersing you in the experience! The different game-modes like “rally” ,”rally-cross” etc are soooooo FUN!

Things You Might Want Before Getting The Game!

A controller or some type wheel I would highly recommend because keyboards and racing games don’t mix all too well! A decent GPU would also be beneficial so that you can push every last pixel of this amazing game! Patience is a big one because this is a hard game and takes some time to get used to.

Tips For First Time Players!

  • Do the dirt academy
  • Play around in free roam for a while
  • Test cars and different tracks to get to know how each game works!
  • Just screw around and enjoy some drifting or jumping the car as far as you can!

Fun Fact:

Ken Block the driver in the Gym Khana series helped to tune the simulation in the game to get it as close to what it feels like to him in real life as they could! Pretty cool if you don’t know who he is go to youtube and search his videos!

My Recommendation:

Buy this game it’s not that expensive and it will give you hours of fun and joy! The game is well designed and get’s a decent amount of updates and we should be seeing some DLC or something soon to keep the hardcore-gamers interested! SO GO AND PLAY IN THE DIRT 4!

Cool Features:

You can customize the theme color of the watch to a few preset colors but red works best in this case.

It Monitors sleep patterns and movement during sleep! This is pretty nifty if you are a stats freak like me and you enjoy knowing what’s happening with your body.So this in’t and in depth monitor it basically monitors your movement and based on this it chooses whether you are in deep/light sleep or awake.Still cool though!

Then the usual steps/calories/distance/Goal.Pretty basic stuff but still useful if you are lazy! It also has a move alert to get you to move when you are stagnant for too long and it doesn’t shut-up until you move!I turned it off obviously 😀

How is it in the long run?

Overall I’ve had this watch for a year now and i bought it for cycling training. It offers tons of different activities from swimming to driving! The build-quality is great,I’ve rubbed it against walls and I’ve also crashed a few times with it and it still only has one scratch! This watch will last you years!

Battery-Life:

The battery on this thing is great!Garmin advertised about 2 weeks on watch mode and mine has lasted longer than 2 week on multiple occasions on only a singe charge. In intense training weeks it usually lasts about a week with 2-3H training sessions. This is pretty impressive in my opinion!

Drawbacks:

The only problems I’ve had were with the HR sensor screwing around at first and only later showing my real HR.Like once I went to a race and for the first half of the race it said my HR was about 90-100bpm… this i knew was a problem ’cause previous races no matter what my HR sits around 180-190bpm…

Other problem isn’t as majors its just irritating…so when you do an activity you don’t have the option to choose which activity you can only change it once you’ve uploaded it.Minor but still frustrating…

My Recommendation?

Get one if you are in the market for something like this it’s a worth while investment! It lasts for years and isn’t cheaply built. They are pricey but it will be worth it if you use it to keep yourself in-shape !
